Doula Services

     Every woman deserves an amazing birth team doulas are not just for moms who are deciding to have an unmedicated birth doulas are for EVERY birth.

Initial meeting

The relationship between doula and client/s is important and can make world of a difference for a laboring mother and her partner. It is also important that both you and your partner are completely comfortable in the role I will have in your birth. Therefore, I do expect to meet with you and your partner at least once ( preferably twice) prior to the BIG DAY so that we can become more acquainted and are able to discuss any fears, concerns doubts as well as plan how we may all best work together. With this being said if you feel for any reason that I am not the “right fit” for you I encourage you to say so, and I will be more than happy to suggest other doulas whom may develop a better rapport. If you do decide to go with my services then we will set up a prenatal visit at home as well as an on-site visit in a setting of your choice. (See prenatal visits below)

On-call period

I am considered “On-Call” for your birth 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after your “guess date” please feel free to call, email, or text me with any updates, changes or questions you may have if it is the middle of the night please CALL ME! I will also inform you of times I am unavailable for labor support. For those times I will arrange one or more qualified back-up doulas whom you may also meet.

Prenatal Visit

We will have a prenatal visit to review your Birth Plan and go over any preferences you may have regarding your birth. I will ask you how knowledgeable you are on the birth process and

provide education and information as needed. I will provide you with a client intake form to fill out prior to this meeting so I have a better understanding of how you intend to birth as well as ways you plan on coping with pain, unforeseen circumstances and interventions. My job is to help you have the most satisfying birth experience possible and the more knowledge I have regarding your expectations for your birth the better I can help you achieve those goals.

The second prenatal visit I can accompany you to a care provider appointment (OB/GYN, Midwife, acupuncturist, chiropractor etc.) or can participate in visit to a childbirth class you are currently attending.

During Labor

If you feel you are in labor CALL ME, even if you don’t yet need me. This will give me time to clear my schedule for the next 24 hours and arrange for childcare. I can answer any questions and make suggestions for early labor over the phone. At this time we can decide when you would like me to join you. It will take me approximately 1 hour to get to you from the time you say “come”. We will also decide on where I should meet you at home or at the hospital/birth center. Except for extraordinary circumstance I will remain with you throughout labor and birth.

After the Birth

I will stay with you 1-2 hours after delivery to make sure you and your family are comfortable and are ready for quite time together. I can also help with initial breastfeeding

I am available after the birth to answer any questions you may have about your birth and baby. I will schedule a follow-up visit with you within a few weeks of the birth to visit you and the baby, go over your birth as well as any feedback you may have for me regarding my role.

The total fee for doula services is $450 and is paid in installments

 

 *$150 is due when the contract is signed or up to 2 weeks after contract is signed this reserves your doula for your birth and makes me obligated for YOUR birth this is a non-refundable deposit

 

 *$300 is due 3 weeks before your “guess date” this way no money is handled at or after the birth (this amount can be paid in installment)

 

 Sliding Scale Option: I do offer a sliding scale option for families who have special circumstances and will be used on a case by case basis. Every families financial abilities are different and every family deserves a doula if they wish to have one regardless of financial ability.
